After a long illustruous career in professional wrestling, reaching heights of being a three-time world champion and a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Superstar, Glenn Jacobs, also known as Kane, decided to change the world in a different arena just over seven years ago. Jacobs ran for and was elected as Mayor of Knox County in 2018. In a meeting room at Jackson’s Old Country Store on Tuesday night, he explained he made the decision to enter politics to make the world a better place for his children and their children.
When discussing Tennessee and the challenges of living in the Volunteer State, Jacobs said crime and education has to be addressed, and named public safety as being a major priority for all lawmakers. Jacobs is a firm believer that the Second Ammendment has to be protected, as well as the rest of the Constitution and calls Tennessee the “Beacon of Freedom” for the rest of the country.
Jacobs answered questions, thanked Veterans, and recognized those serving food.
While several fans of Jacobs’ more than 20 years of WWE appeared at the gathering, many attended at the invitation of the Chairman of Tennesseeans for Liberty PAC, Adrian Eddleman. According to Eddleman, the event was by invitation-only for Liberty and Constitutional minded advocates.
For those in attendance hoping for a formal declaration of Jacobs intentions to run for a higher office in the near future, they will have to wait awhile longer. No announcement was made.
Jacobs and his wife of more than 25 years, Crystal, live in Knox County with their family, including two daughters, two sons-in-law, two grandchildren and five dogs.
