In the Fall, I came across a social media post from the Brooklyn Art Library regarding
The Sketchbook Project. I was instantly intrigued. Brooklyn and New York hold a special place in my heart as I had the amazing opportunity to travel there before and after attending
CZT Seminar #26 in 2017.
Obtaining a sketchbook was easy, anyone from anywhere in the world can order one from the
Brooklyn Art Library Website. The hard part was deciding what I wanted to put inside of the book, what themes I wanted to use and what I wanted to share.
I received a Vol. 17 Sketch Book. The themes for Vol. 17 included Sunset Hues, Transparencies, Erasing Everything, Promises with Pencil, Art Accident, City Escape, Marks and Markers, Water-colour Whispers, Doodle a Daydream, Great Stories in Graph, Zig Zag, Mask and Tape.
Overtime, I decided I wanted to use my sketchbook as a place to document the Zentangle-Inspired classes I had taught and participated in through out 2020. Although I was given various themes as options to work with, I decided that my two overall themes of my sketchbook were "untangling the negativity" and "silver-linings".
*appreciate should say appreciation- the error was fixed prior to mailing the book.
In the end, I was very pleased with how my Sketchbook turned out, and I can't wait to one day visit the Brooklyn Art Library.
