ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A man was seriously injured after falling from the top of a downtown Abilene parking garage while performing motorcycle stunts.

Police responded to North 4th and Pine Street around 1:15 p.m. Sunday, February 23, after reports of an injured person. Officers arrived to find a 28-year-old man lying in the roadway of North 4th Street.

Investigators say the man was inside the First Financial Bank parking garage with four others. The group was reportedly taking photos and videos when the motorcyclist lost control, flew over the top-floor retaining wall, and fell onto the street below.

He was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries and is expected to be transferred to Fort Worth for further treatment due to his critical condition.

According to police, the First Financial Bank parking garage is open to the public on weekday evenings and weekends. The riders told officers they had gone there to take photos and videos.

The investigation is ongoing, and no citations have been issued.
