How Face Yoga Opened Doors for Kalliope – Internationally!

What if the comfort zone you’ve been clinging to is the very thing holding you back from the life you’re meant to live?
Oh, the sweet smell of comfort.
It feels like a warm hug from an old friend. Familiar. Safe. Known.
Here’s what nobody tells you about comfort zones: they’re not really about comfort at all.
“You’re doing fine.”
“Why risk what’s working?”
“At least you know what to expect.“
I see it all the time. Women with stable jobs, reliable routines (and a gnawing feeling in their gut that there’s something more waiting for them).
Like Kalliope Siskos, one of my Face Yoga Teacher Certification Course Graduates. She had it all figured out – a successful bodywork practice, steady income, and loyal clients.
The kind of stability most people dream about.
She knew every muscle, every knot, every tension point – there was nothing she couldn’t fix. Or so she thought.
Yet she felt certain there was more to her story.
She tried to push the feeling aside, but it kept coming back. What could she possibly be missing after three decades of experience?
Then, a conversation with a long-time client planted a seed that would change everything.
“Face Yoga…really?”
At first, Kalliope didn’t think much of it. It seemed too simple. After all, she had always focused on the body’s larger muscles – the back, the shoulders, the legs.
How could the face play such a significant role?
But curiosity got the better of her, and soon, she was knee-deep in research.
“I looked into the Face Yoga Method, and I liked the detail. It had a solid scientific background,” she says.
Skepticism gave way to excitement, and she decided to enroll in the Face Yoga Teacher Certification Course.
What happened next changed everything.
Not just her practice, but her entire understanding of human healing.
“It was like an explosion after I got into it because I realized how much we actually hold in our faces and how much trauma actually will come to the surface,” Kalliope says.
She saw this firsthand while working with an 80-year-old client in California, who often complained of heaviness in one part of her face and constant nasal drainage.
During their 4th Face Yoga lesson, this woman revealed something that she’d kept hidden for SEVEN decades…a long-buried childhood trauma.
“When I was little, my siblings and I used to play a game called ‘Pile Up.’ I would lie on the ground and everyone else would stack themselves on top of me, one by one. I can still feel that crushing weight… the pressure on my bones“, her voice cracked.
For 70 years, she’d carried that tension. 70 years of holding her face, her jaw, her whole being in survival mode. The physical trauma had literally imprinted on her and shifted her cranial bones.
As they worked together, the woman’s facial structure began to get better, and with it came an emotional release that Kalliope found both moving and inspiring.
Suddenly this was not just about Face Yoga. It was about healing hidden traumas, giving ourselves permission to exist fully, and reclaiming our space in the world.
“Because Face Yoga is not just “Let’s get rid of some lines and let’s make things a little bit tighter”. I noticed with the clients that I work with because I always combine biology with psychology. There’s so much trauma that comes up. So many stored emotions. It’s amazing the stuff that I’ve seen come up with people.”
Kalliope began integrating Face Yoga into her practice, blending it with her expertise to offer a holistic healing approach. The results?
New clients. New stages. A new chapter.
Her income has grown, yes, but so has the depth of healing she can offer.
“There has been an increase in my income. And my aim is to go higher and higher,” Kalliope says, her eyes filled with excitement.
Today, her practice is thriving like never before. She now has clients around the world, from California to Athens and Greece.
“Suddenly one, two, three, four clients and they’re all there. This is great because I wanted to go international and now that’s happening.”
