Help Neighbors Less Fortunate this Christmas

According to The Salvation Army, contributions this Christmas will help serve 1,000 local individuals and families in need

During this holiday season, The Salvation Army of Jackson is ramping up efforts to support those most in need. This year, The Salvation Army seeks to raise $100,000. to meet the growing demand for essential services in the 8 county Jackson service community.

Every year, The Salvation Army of Jackson provides 500 meals, 15,000 bags of groceries to 5,000 families, and helps provide Christmas Cheer to 750 children and 100 older adults, to local residents. The holiday season can be especially difficult for many, and donations are crucial to ensuring that no one is left behind during this time of year.

“The holiday season brings unique challenges for many in our community, but it also brings out the generosity of those who can help,” said Major John Edmonds. “Every donation, no matter the size, is a step toward lifting someone out of hardship. Your support helps bring hope and stability to those who need it most – not just during Christmas but also throughout the entire year.”

Funds raised during the holiday season support initiatives like the Angel Tree program, which provides clothes and toys to children and seniors. Donations also help provide year-round aid such as rent, utility, and housing assistance for individuals facing financial hardship. In Jackson, The Salvation Army also offers After-School tutoring, Youth services and ministry, and Life Navigation classes for adults.
