Finding purpose in bodybuilding and being fearless in faith with IFBB pro Olivia Gravengaard (Old Soul Made New)
Thanks for listening to another episode of the Women’s Maximum Fitness Podcast! In this episode #38 I enjoy some quality time with the beautiful IFBB pro Olivia Gravengaard. She speaks openly and humbly about her past and current struggles with disordered eating, and herjourney to the pro stage having just moved to Texas from Indiana when the pandemic hit. Prepping through the pandemic was an fun challenge and she shares a poignant moment when the women of her class congratulated each other before walking on stage that night of finals how they’d all already won because each pursued despite lockdown with the goal of finishing in mind. The deep dive in this episode came 30-40 minutes in when Olivia began sharing about her faith. Fearless in her humble convictions that muscle is merely a side effect of who we are as people and bodybuilding is a platform to serve and help, her thoughtful philosophies begin to pour out. Intertwined throughout this episode is the lingering question, “what is our purpose in bodybuilding?”. It seems this pro (Olivia) and this average amateur (Me) are truly on the same page with our goals, as are a lot of the women sharing space in this industry.Few things provide greater hope than seeing a young superstar, humble in her accomplishments, thoughtful in her purpose, and meaningful in her actions. This podcast promises to be a safe place for any guest to be herself, fearlessly. WomensMaximumFitness is about empowering women to share who they really are. I hope you enjoy this discussion as much as I did. I’m a fan of this Old Soul Made New. Olivia you must be so proud of yourself.
