Exceeding Expectations: Creative Custom Plant Tags That Stand Out in Any Growing Environment

At Label Logic, we highlight the unique labeling solutions we’ve developed over the past 40+ years. Today, I’m excited to share a story about how we helped a company label their planters and identify the seeds they were growing.

The challenge:
This company needed an on-demand labeling solution for their planters. The labels had to be made from a material that could handle moisture and withstand temperature changes while being rigid enough to attach securely to the planter.

We took the time to listen to their needs and what they wanted to achieve with this system. Then, we formulated a plan to provide a solution.

The solution:
We developed a 10-mil polypropylene tag stock that could endure the environmental challenges of growing plants, like moisture and temperature fluctuations. The material was thick and durable, perfect for attaching to the planters.

Since the tags were so thick, we recommended a Near-Edge printer from TEC, paired with a resin thermal transfer ribbon. This combination allowed the customer to easily print these rugged tags on demand.

The result:
The outcome was even better than expected! The customer was thrilled with how simple it was to print these tags and how well they performed in the growing environment.

But the story doesn’t end there. The customer had one more request—they asked if we could pre-print the back of the tags with some fun sayings they had come up with. And, of course, we said yes!

Now, these tags not only provide essential information on the front but also add a bit of personality with custom messages on the back. It’s a great example of how labeling can be both functional and creative.
