Emergency Plan For Freezing Temperatures – Warming Center For Homeless Individuals

The City of Jackson in partnership with Tennessee Homeless Solutions, First United Methodist Church, Area Relief Ministries, RIFA, and West Tennessee Healthcare Hope & Healing Foundation will extend emergency services to provide a Temporary Warming Center for homeless men, women and children for freezing weather days beginning Tuesday night, February 18, 2025, and continuing through Thursday night, February 20, 2025.

The following plan has been devised to provide a temporary warming center for homeless men, women, and children seeking aid.

Temporary Warming Center Location: First United Methodist Church Mission Center (200 S. Church St. Jackson, TN) *Estimated Capacity is 30 individuals.

● Individuals seeking shelter on Tuesday and Thursday should meet at the Area Relief Ministries offices at 5 p.m. (108 S Church St., Jackson, TN) All who seek shelter must abide by the Are Relief Ministries guidelines
● Individuals seeking shelter on Wednesday should meet at the First United Methodist Church Mission Center.
Material and Monetary Donations
The community is encouraged to donate the following items.
● Nonperishable food items can be dropped off at RIFA (133 Airways Blvd. Jackson, TN)
● Toiletries, t-shirts, sweat pants, socks, and coats can be dropped off at FUMC Mission Center
