Custom birth control for the student body ????????????

With a few smirks and a couple of giggles, we are excited to announce the launch of our latest ad campaign. Thanks to their previous success and general mass appeal, we decided using emojis in our ad creative was the right move to connect with our audience. But seriously — who doesn’t love emojis? And you have to admit: the eggplant is a constant topic of discussion.

Back in April of this year, carafem attempted to advertise our customized birth control options in bar bathrooms in downtown DC. Despite the rave reviews from many people, the media vendor was unable to get the bars to run the ads. Still, we did see some good press as a result of the censorship!

With the back-to-school season in full swing and the fact that many of our clients can be found on college campuses, we jumped at the opportunity to raise awareness about carafem in a way that is both relatable and memorable. So we took our previous emoji concept and rebuilt it to be timely and relevant to the back-to-school season.

When students return to their respective campuses, there’s a feeling of independence, adventure, and possibility – especially as it relates to sex. There are lots of new and exciting “opportunities” – which is how we came up with the sequential headlines:

New sights. Let’s face it. There are a bunch of people on college campuses; many of them sexy.
New sounds. Blush-inducing, embarrassing, and uncomfortable are all words that describe the sounds you may hear while your roommate and their “guest” mingle under the covers.
New experiences. + = . Get it? If you want to, you are bound to have your own “experiences” on campus.

All that said, we wanted to acknowledge that there are “new” things to look forward to when you go back to school – and should you decide to partake in any “new experiences,” we want you to know carafem will be there for you.
