Capitals best Kraken 4-2, Ovi 9 Away!
The Capitals overcame early adversity against the Kraken, leading to a 4-2 victory, highlighted by Ovechkin's milestone goals and a promising team resilience.

The Capitals took on the Kraken on Sunday afternoon and had to battle from behind again and again they showed they can handle adversity and know goals will come and that they did.
Seattle got on the board first off a nice assist from former Cap Andre Burakovsky to Shane Wright for the easy tap in to beat Lindgren, 1-0 bad guys and that was the lone goal in the 1st.
Then 35 seconds into period two the Caps tie it up via a nice backhand pass by Protas to Fehervary who ripped a wrister past the Kraken tendy, 1-1 ball game. This was Martin’s 4th goal of the season and now has 7 points in his last 12 games.

Then shortly after Dylan Strome in his 500th game rocketed a wrister close to the blue line into a well screened front where the goalie never saw the shot, 2-1 Caps. Strome scores his 19th of the season and now has 17 points in his last 15 games.
Seattle tied it back up shortly after via a nice pass from Chandler Stephenson to Jordan Eberle who score from a knee to make it 2-2.
Heading to the 3rd with less than 5 minutes left in regulation John Carlson used a shot-pass to find a sneaky Connor McMichael undefended out front for the easy tap in to take the lead 3-2. This also made it point number 101 of his young career.
Then with the Seattle goalie pulled in a last ditch effort the puck found Ovechkin’s stick and on the backhand smacked home the game sealing goal.

With Ovi’s empty netter it notched his 886th goal as well as his 1600th point. Ovi is now ONLY NINE AWAY from passing Gretzky!

We also saw the Capital debut from recently aquired Anthony Beauvillier who should fit in nice on the 4th line and it seems like the boys are making him feel at home already in the room.

We also are seeing a resurgence I guess you can say from Protas who seems to keep getting better and better, would just like to see him stay consistent because he shows signs of brilliance here and there for us.
We also saw a solid line brawl in the 3rd resulting in TEN players total in the penalty box and Brandon Duhaime getting the early exit.

This Caps team unlike ones in the past when they go down in the game I know they are never out of it because they know goals are coming even if they get outshot during 5v5 hockey. This team is resilient.
The Capitals will now head on their west coast road trip with games against the Kings and the Ducks. Now these games usually don’t get a lot of viewers because of the time change, but with Ovi now in single digit country for the goal record the east coast Cap’s fans better have that extra cup of joe or uppers on deck so they don’t miss any of Ovi’s goals.
