Breastfeeding News for the New Year
Many of our customers are getting ready for travel this holiday season, so we wanted you to be aware of some things to help you on the road as well as some news for the new year!Don't forget to protection your milk supply! Whether this is taking a stash along or keeping your feeding times in place, here is what you need to know.Breastmilk can be refrigerated for up to 6 days so if you are taking a stash along with you, pack plenty of hard ice packs or use a Ceres Chill to simulate your refrigerator. If using ice packs, make sure at least 50% of the space in your cooler are hard frozen ice packs. Soft packs defrost sooner, so use hard ice.Babies can get off task and not feed as well during holidays. To keep your baby on task, consider using a nursing cover to keep their eyes on the prize!If you are exclusively pumping, hands-free bras and collection kits are available as well as vehicle adapters to pump on the go!Use it or loose it when it comes to HSA, FSA and other insurance benefits! If you have health benefits for 2024, make sure you use them by December 31st! Many insurance companies offer benefits on breastfeeding supplies including collection kits, breast milk storage bags, cooler carriers, vehicle adapters to pump in the car, hands free bras and more! Heads up to Spectra moms on price increases in 2025! Many manufacturer's raise prices at the beginning of the year and while Lactation Connection will still offer the lowest prices possible, if you need supplies for your Spectra breast pump, buying by December 31st will get you the best bang for your buck!Need if before Christmas?
