A couple of years ago, I attended an
alcohol ink demo class at Opus and really fell in love
with how the inks moved and flowed on the Yupo paper. The vibrancy and boldness of the colours were so beautiful.
I was excited to once again play with alcohol inks when Beata at
Soigne offered an alcohol inks on canvas class.
At first, I was a bit intimidated by the big blank white canvas. I don't really use canvases when tangling. But I went for it, and it was so much fun! In the past I had used a straw to move the inks around, but this time we used a hair dryer which I loved!
Once the inks were dry, we grabbed our pens and started outlining the cells and adding little embellishments. I especially enjoyed adding the gold leaf.
After class, I stopped by the store to pick up some canvases and supplies so Momma Deb and I could play!
First, I had to prep/prime the canvases with B.I.N. Shellac Base Primer. I'm not a fan of this prep work. I prefer to just start exploring and creating.
Once the primer was dry (after 3-4 coats), we got to play!
I tried using masking fluid to create a blank space to tangle in.
I love all the vibrant colours,
Next up, I will bring out the pens. Can't wait to add some tangles to these canvases.
