31 Days of Character Creation 2025 #2 – Outgunned

Today’s character comes from Outgunned, a cinematic action tabletop roleplaying game. Here’s the description from the official website:

Outgunned is a cinematic action RPG inspired by the classics of the action and heist genre, from Die Hard to True Lies, passing through James Bond, Lethal Weapon, Kingsman, Ocean’s Eleven, Hot Fuzz, and the latest John Wick.

In Outgunned, Players take on the role of action Heroes facing terrible odds. They will be constantly surrounded by enemies while trying to carry out their mission, be it robbing a casino or saving the day.

My character is Tonya Jensen, and after making this sheet, I want to play her in a solo game of Outgunned, so keep an eye out for that in 2025. Tonya is an elementary school teacher driving back home after working on her classroom days before school starts for the new year. She passes by a former student’s home; the boy’s family has always been very troubled & involved with criminal types. A black van is in their driveway, and strange men are arguing with the father on the porch while the young boy watches on. Then Tonya witnesses them grab the boy and take him to the van after striking the father in the face. Old training clicks in Tonya’s head.

You see, Tonya’s mother, Ruby, didn’t handle her husband’s death in the Gulf War well at all. She sunk further into ideas around survivalist ideology and took Tonya off the grid when the girl was only 7. For a couple of years, Ruby trained herself and her daughter in all the areas one would need to live off the land and defend themselves from a variety of threats.

A sheriff’s deputy with an itch trigger finger was searching for a car thief in the area and shot Ruby. The woman escaped but knew she was going to bleed to death. She gave Tonya the contact info of the girl’s estranged Uncle Hud in northern Middle Tennessee. At only 10 years of age, Tonya found her way to Hud’s house, and he took her in with little question. He always knew Ruby’s life would end tragically.

As Tonya witnesses the kidnapping of her former student, the training has returned. She’s ready to go the distance to protect this child.
